The ELICOS - 089714G General English course is designed to provide skills and knowledge in the use of the English language for general purposes. The course also includes academic elements, however its focus is becoming effective communicators in English. The Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced modules provide students the opportunity to focus on particular areas of English relevant to the student’s interest.

What will you learn?

 
Listening
Develop listening skills through conversations, listening tests, music and media.
 
Reading
Develop reading skills through news articles, textbooks, reading tests, stories and personal reading programs.
 
Grammar
Develop grammar skills each day through our fantastic course textbook. Teachers will also help explain rules and give you lots of practice.
 
Pronunciation
Develop your pronunciation skills through practicing and learning international phonetics and spelling. Obviously you will also practice your pronunciation with lots of speaking!
 
Speaking
Develop speaking skills through conversations, discussions, presentations, debates and roleplays.
 
Writing
Develop writing skills through writing sentences, paragraphs, summaries, articles, letter, reports and essays.
 
Vocabulary
Develop your vocabulary skills through studying a variety of topics and themes each day. Through reading and listening, you will also learn lots of new and helpful words.
